When streaming services detect VPN traffic

What to try when a streaming platform shows a VPN, proxy, or location warning.

Some services use VPN detection based on IP reputation, traffic patterns, account country, or device location. If one server is blocked, try the basic checks below.

  1. 1Disconnect and reconnect to another server in the same country
  2. 2Clear that service's cookies or cached app data if it retained an old location
  3. 3Check whether the service is using account country, payment country, or device location in addition to IP location
  4. 4Keep Protocol set to Auto and use Connection compatibility only when the network connection is unreliable
  5. 5Contact support with the exact error and the server country you used
