Kill Switch for torrenting — essential configuration

Use HorizonVPN's full-device Kill switch and a careful connect-before-open workflow for legal P2P transfers.

A torrent client can continue transferring over the normal connection if the VPN stops and the operating system is allowed to fall back. Kill switch reduces that risk by blocking normal traffic while the VPN tunnel is unavailable.

  1. 1Close the torrent client before changing the VPN connection
  2. 2Open HorizonVPN → Settings → Security and enable Kill switch
  3. 3On Android, open Always-on VPN and also enable "Block connections without VPN" in Android settings
  4. 4Connect HorizonVPN and wait until the app shows Connected
  5. 5Open the torrent client and use it only for content you are authorized to transfer
  6. 6Close the torrent client before intentionally disconnecting HorizonVPN

HorizonVPN does not currently provide an app-level Kill switch that protects only a selected torrent app. Do not copy fixed adapter names from old guides; interface names can change by platform and connection method.
