Connecting to your first VPN server

Learn how to connect to a VPN server and verify your connection is active.

Once HorizonVPN is installed, connecting to a server takes just one click.

  1. 1Open the HorizonVPN app
  2. 2Choose Auto or select an available location from the Locations panel
  3. 3Use the large power button to start the connection
  4. 4Wait for the app status to show "Connected" before opening the app or site you want to use
  5. 5Check the Public IP card or HorizonVPN's IP address tool if you want to verify the connection

Choosing a specific server

  1. 1Open the Locations panel
  2. 2Browse the locations currently available to your plan or use search
  3. 3Select a location, then use the power button to connect

A site can remember an older location in cookies or account settings. Verify the public IP first before treating a website's saved region as a VPN failure.

If the connection does not complete, return Protocol and Connection compatibility to their automatic choices, then try a nearby location.
